ADULT ALL LEVELS CLASS
Whether you are just beginning jiu-jitsu, or have some previous mat experience, this class provides an oppurtunity learn technique and practice jiu-jitsu in a standard class setting.
For a beginner, establishing solid foundational principles in Jiu-Jitsu is the critical first step in a beginner student’s progression. The concepts and techniques you will learn in this class will create a framework you will build upon as your knowledge and skill level increases.
Techniques and Principles in this class include:
- Basic Jiu-Jitsu stances and movement.
- Understanding fundamental positions and their importance.
- Escapes from common holds that may occur in an altercation .
- Tactical concepts including the principles of base, posture, and frames.
- Self-defense principles from standing like distance management, defense from strikes, and basic take-downs.
- Self-defense principles on the ground.
These concepts are taught during a typical class session through individual movements we use during a brief warm-up, a class instruction portion where we demonstrate in detail the class content for the day, and through partner-based drills. You will be able to immediately see the effectiveness of what you learn during class by applying these concepts during our positional-based rounds where you and your training partner can utilize the techniques you are learning and their application. Classes are an hour in length. By keeping the energy levels up, focused, and free of stress, you will enjoy the process of acquiring these new skills while having fun and getting in an excellent workout by the end of a session.
